Quebec Marguerite & Red Wine Salt

A Quebec Marguerite

A variation on the classic Mexican cocktail, replacing the orange liqueur with a maple whiskey liqueur.   You can substitute with a whiskey and some maple syrup.

2 parts Tequila
1 part Sortilege (but any nice liqueur is good)
1 part Lime juice
Red wine salt on the rim

The red wine salt is simple to make. Reduce wine down as much as possible (syrupy), cool it, then add coarse salt, stirring it, until all the liquid is absorbed and it starts to feel a little dry. Then simply put it somewhere to finish drying. It's gorgeous, and has a faint hint of wine taste and smell.
